Kuwait to Gradually Resume International Flights to 13 Key Destinations Starting Sunday
Kuwait International Airport is set to resume flights to 13 countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UK, with a phased approach to ensure safety and efficiency. Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the Acting Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety, outlines the plan for travelers.
In a significant move to revive international travel, Kuwait will gradually resume flights to 13 key destinations starting this Sunday. The destinations include Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Turkey, India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Jordan, China, and Pakistan.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the Acting Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport, and Civil Aviation Security, made the announcement, emphasizing the importance of a phased approach to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
The initial phase will see operations begin with approximately 20 departing flights and a similar number of arriving flights daily from passenger terminals T4 and T5 at Kuwait International Airport. This phase is designed as an evaluation period, allowing authorities to monitor operations and make necessary adjustments before moving to the next stage.
Al-Rajhi highlighted the comprehensive plan in place to uphold the highest standards of safety and security, which includes close coordination with airports in the destination countries. He stated, "Our priority is to ensure smooth operations while maintaining rigorous safety protocols."
As the program progresses, travelers can expect an increase in flight frequency and the potential addition of new destinations, aimed at expanding connectivity for passengers. Al-Rajhi also stressed the need for collaboration between the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Interior to effectively manage airport traffic, enhance ground services, and facilitate passenger movement.
Travelers are encouraged to cooperate with airport authorities and adhere to official instructions to ensure a seamless transition into this new phase of operations. With the gradual resumption of flights, Kuwait aims to reconnect with the world while prioritizing the health and safety of its citizens and visitors.
